Teacher Information
Satwinder Pal Singh is a respected Sarangi player and teacher, known for his deep knowledge of classical music and Sikh traditional instruments. He began learning music at the age of 11 from his father, Ustad S. Shaminder Pal Singh, an A-Grade Sarangi artist from All India Radio, Jalandhar. He belongs to the Senia Gharana of Mian Tansen and has been trained in Sarangi, Saranda, and vocal music since childhood.
Satwinder gave his first public performance at age 5 at the famous Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan. He has trained under legends like Padma Bhushan Ustad Sabri Khan and Padma Vibhushan Pandit Ram Narayan Ji, as well as Pandit Harsh Narayan Ji.
He has performed at top classical music festivals across India, UK, and New Zealand, and has collaborated with greats like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, and Pt. Ravi Chary.
Satwinder has won several awards, including:
- Gold Medal – Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan
- National Winner – All India Radio
- Five-time Gold Medalist – National Youth Festival by AIU
He is also skilled in Saranda, Dilruba, Taus, and Esraj, taught by his father. His music is also featured in movies like CAT (Netflix), Mastaney, and Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree.
